Deporte y FotografíaSport and Photography

  Isla Taquile, Lago Titicaca.

Lately I have gone through different articles about tips to find the photographer’s inspiration and how to motivate yourself to get better images, they are interesting articles but I did not read one jet that mention physical exercise. In my opinion sport is not only a fount of inspiration but must be included in the photographer’s workflow routine.

Sport feeds mind and body, when our body is fine our mind looks for new challenges and active mind is not only important for a photographer but good for everybody.

We have an active profession; we have to stand for hours shooting in events, carry on with gear, run and look for that great photo. Do you believe we could get professional results if you get tired at the middle of the day?

Due to my journeys I need to keep a good physic condition, living with my backpack, walking long distances and carry my camera 24 hours a day during months is not an easy task. You must know your body and limits and being able to manage your energies for arriving to the spot where we are going to work for that great shoot not loosing your breath and thinking properly.

Some protests and riots in the south of Peru. Closed roads and no communications.

Backpack, gear, canoe and the Amazon river

So come on! go outdoors and see you running, swimming or climbing!
